Obituary

William (Bill) Grant Rogers, 86 years of age, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Beaumont Dearborn Hospital. Bill was born the fourth of nine children on May 15, 1934 in Highland Park, Michigan to Walter and Euphama (Ford) Rogers. His siblings were: Robert, Francis, Alice, Marion, Ellen, Audrey, Grace, and Ruthie. He was proceeded in death by both his parents, five of his siblings and one Son-in-law. Bill married Alice Marie (Harrison) Rogers on May 23, 1953. Celebrating 67 years of marriage in May of 2020. They had four children together. He professed himself to the Lord at the age of 30. He cherished praising the Lord, working in the church as a bus captain, Sunday school teacher, usher, greeter and in many various ministries. William retired from Detroit Edison in 1994, after 40 dedicated years as a tree trimmer and supervisor. Bill loved working outside or in his workshop with his hands, hunting, spending time with family, attending church, working out at the gym, having breakfast with his buddies and watching old time westerns from the comfort of his chair. He was a loving and caring Christian, devoted husband, father and friend-Always willing to help others in whatever way he could. Bill leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Alice Rogers, his children: Janice (John) Blair, Vickie (Greg) Perkey, William (Tammy) Rogers Jr., Robin (John) Moore; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great- grandchildren; 3 sisters; 3 sister-in- laws; 3 brother-in- laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill's family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
