After proudly serving his country in the Army, he returned to civilian life and embarked on a successful career in the automotive industry, where his expertise and leadership were held in high regard by his colleagues and peers. At home, William's heart belonged to his family. A devoted husband of 34 years, he was a source of unwavering support and love for his wife, Laura Hutchinson. He was a loving son to his late parents, William and Myrtle, a caring brother to his siblings, George, Sheree and the late Barbie, and a caring father to his children—mourning the loss of his son, Mark Meyer, and celebrating the lives of Bob (Patty) Hutchinson, Kathy (Randy) Pattee, and Billy Hutchinson. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the recipients of his boundless affection and the stories of his rich experiences.
