Tommy Hoover, a cherished pillar of his family and a beacon of kindness and wisdom, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, in Wayne, Michigan. Born on July 2, 1942, in Garrett, Kentucky, Tommy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, hard work, and devotion to family and faith.

Tommy's journey began as the beloved son of Epp and Virginia Hoover, both of whom preceded  him in death. His foundational years in the rolling hills of Kentucky instilled in him a love for the great outdoors and an appreciation for the land's beauty and bounty. It was in these formative years that Tommy met his high school sweetheart, Jeanette, whom he married on May 4, 1963. Their unwavering partnership spanned an impressive 62 years, during which they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Together, Tommy and Jeanette raised a family that would become his greatest pride. Their children, Kimberly (Paul) Vela, and Tommy B. (Julie), grew up basking in the warmth of their father's love and the wisdom of his guidance. Tommy's legacy continued to blossom with his grandchildren, Austin (Kacie), Carleigh, Chloe, Amanda, Rachel, and Elizabeth, and his adoration extended to his great-granddaughter, Amelia Vela. Each of them benefited from his gentle spirit and generous nature.

Tommy's siblings, Charles (Joanne), Woody (Cindy), Gary (Brenda), Philip (Robin), Graham Mary), Linda (John), Delana (James), and Tina (Brian), shared in the journey of his life, as did his late siblings, Roger (Vera) , Cathy, Dean, and Jimmy (Sue). The bond he shared with his brothers and sisters was one of mutual respect and affection, a bond that extended to his numerous nieces, nephews, and the broader family circle.

A stalwart of the steel industry, Tommy dedicated 49 years to hard work and commitment, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Retirement did not diminish his industrious spirit, as he continued to engage with the world around him with vigor and passion.

A devoted Christian, Tommy's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was an active and dedicated member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he found solace, strength, and community. Sundays were sacred to Tommy, a day to reflect, rejoice, and fellowship with his church family.

An avid sports fan, Tommy's enthusiasm for the Detroit Tigers and Lions was infectious. He was known for his generous spirit, not only in his tithes to the church but also in the joy he found in spoiling his grandchildren. Tommy's love for family gatherings was unparalleled; the barbecues, parties, and holiday celebrations he so adored were imbued with his spirit of togetherness.

In the quiet moments, Tommy could be found outdoors, deer hunting, and reveling in nature's grandeur. He was a skilled outdoorsman, his expertise in reading the geography and understanding the topography and rivers was admired by all who knew him.

Described as a quiet, gentle, and sweet man, Tommy was slow to anger and quick to offer a helping hand or a word of encouragement. His presence was a source of calm and comfort to those around him.

Tommy Hoover's life was one of profound impact, a testament to the values of kindness, wisdom, and generosity.
