Obituary

Charles Timothy Fielhauer, known affectionately to all as Tim, brought an irrepressible joy to the world when he was born on March 23, 1955, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It is with a blend of sorrow and a smile that we announce Tim's final curtain call on July 9, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. His life was a masterclass in humor, love, and the art of carpentry-a true jack of all trades who could fix a leaky faucet and a bad day with equal skill.

Tim's legacy is as sturdy and lovingly crafted as the buildings he built and the lives he touched. He shared an epic, laughter-filled love story with his wife, Renee, for 47 incredible years, having tied the knot on June 18, 1977. Together, they raised two wonderful children-Michael, with his wife Jennifer, and Jamie. Tim's role as a grandfather was no less significant, as he showered Gabrielle, Fallyn, Ava, Keira, and Lily with the same warmth and wit that defined his character.

While his parents, Charles Thomas and Grace Fielhauer, and siblings, Tom Fielhauer and Beverly Anderson, had preceded him in the great beyond, Tim always kept their memories alive with his uproarious stories and infectious laughter. His best friend, Henry "Hank" Hughes, can attest to Tim's loyalty and the countless times they brought the house down with their jokes.

For 40+ years, Tim worked as a journeyman carpenter, a career that was more a calling than a job. His hands, as skilled as they were, were surpassed only by his intelligence and his ability to make even the most mundane task seem like a scene from a comedy sketch. He was a family man to the core, always ready to lend a hand or a joke, whichever was most needed.

He was the embodiment of a happy-go-lucky spirit, and his presence was a guarantee of a good time. Tim was that rare person who could genuinely claim to have never met a stranger-everyone was a friend waiting to happen, and every friend was a potential sidekick in his next comedic caper.

The words that best describe Tim are as vivid and vibrant as the man himself: funny, handy, intelligent. He was the jokester at the party, the sage at the workbench, and the heart of his family. His laughter was a symphony that played the soundtrack of many lives, and his wit could defuse any tension. Tim was the kind of guy who knew that life was too important to be taken seriously all the time.

As we say goodbye to Tim, we imagine him crafting a new punchline, a joke so grand that it has the angels doubling over in laughter. For those of us left behind, we can honor his memory by embracing his philosophy: to love deeply, laugh heartily, and always keep your toolbox handy.

Remember Tim Fielhauer as the man who could build anything, fix everything, and never missed a chance to add a little joy to the world. He will be dearly missed, but the blueprint of love and laughter he leaves behind will continue to inspire and guide us. Rest in peace, dear Tim, and may your jokes continue to echo in the rafters of eternity.
