It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Delbert Taylor, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished husband, who departed this life on May 14, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on November 12, 1937, in Combs, Kentucky, Thomas was a resident of Westland, Michigan, where he spent his later years surrounded by family.

Thomas was a traditional Southern gentleman with a good heart and a keen intellect. He dedicated many years of his life to the construction industry, where he showcased his remarkable skills as a builder. His hands were often busy repairing things and he took great pride in maintaining his lawn, reflecting the care he poured into every aspect of his life.

Married to his beloved wife, Gracie, for over 65 years until her passing in 2025, Thomas and Gracie shared an enduring love that blossomed over 70 years. Throughout their life together, he exemplified the essence of partnership, always attentive to her needs and providing unwavering support in all her endeavors.

Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children Lisa Grace (Joel) McMullen, Tina Lynette (Larry) Guenther, Thomas Dimitri (fiancee Rebecca) Taylor, Tammi Darlene (Jeff) Crowder, and Chad Joseph (Erika) Taylor. Thomas was also survived by many grandchildren: Austin (Jeslyn), Chad (Kristin), Samuel (Taylor), Luke, Holli (Kory), Joey, Brandon (Megan), Justin (Sarah), Elaina (Nick), Micaela, Bethany, Drew, Hannah (Buddy), Abbi (Jeremiah), Noah (Amber), Emily (Frank), Allison (Trever), Jacob, Grace, Emma, Boston, Dorothy, Penny and Chad Jr., as well as his adored great-grandchildren Crew, Theo, the late Kory, Ben, Elexes, Lilley, Henry, Arlene, Theo, Charlie, Annie, George, Ronan, Lucy, Zebadiah, Levi, Jack, Leo, Odette, and Theodora.

Thomas was preceded in death by: wife, Gracie Taylor, parents, Bessie and Elmer Taylor, great-grandson, Kory, and siblings: Clara Jean, Bernice Dean, and Barbara Ann.
