Susan Louise Corney, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Born on March 14, 1958, in Wayne, Michigan, to the late Frederick and Jannette Harstead, Sue was a cherished individual who brought joy and kindness to all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children, Sarah (Christopher II) Finch and Jennifer (Edward II) Brown; her adoring grandchildren, Edward, Gabriella, and Lucas; her siblings, Terry Harstead, Gail (Daniel) Spillard, and Kimberly (Randy) Blackwood; her former husband, father of her children, and good friend, Ben Corney; and many nieces and nephews who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

Sue spent many years as an Accounts Payable manager at the Bank of Ann Arbor, where she was not only respected for her professionalism but also adored for her spirit. Known affectionately as "Weather Q" by her family and friends, Sue had a passion for forecasting the weather, often sharing her predictions and insights with a twinkle in her eye.

She was known for decorating the bank for holidays, infusing the space with her creative touch and festive energy. Halloween was a particularly joyous time for Sue, as she delighted in crafting and decorating with her grandchildren.

Her love for the outdoors was evident in her hobbies. She found solace in gardening flowers, bird watching, and hiking with her grandchildren. Sue's connection to nature was profound, and she cherished every moment spent in northern Michigan, surrounded by the beauty of the landscape and the company of her family.

An animal lover at heart, Sue held a special place for her cats, who provided her with comfort and companionship. Her love for country music often filled the rooms of her home, creating a soundtrack to the many memories made there. Faith-filled and spirited, she embraced life with an open heart, always ready to embark on outdoor adventures or simply enjoy the tranquility of her surroundings.

As a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Westland, she embodied the values of her faith, living a life filled with grace and compassion. Sue's legacy is one of love and kindness. She touched the lives of many with her gentle nature and unwavering faith. Her presence was a gift to those around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
