Roy Edgar "Ed" McBee, a cherished family man, esteemed businessman, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, at his home in Wayne, Michigan. Born on June 2, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, Ed's zest for life and his unwavering spirit left a lasting imprint on all who knew him. He was a beacon of strength and love for his family, and his legacy will be fondly remembered and celebrated by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ed's early years in Detroit laid the foundation for a life defined by hard work, dedication, and an entrepreneurial spirit. His journey led him to own and operate a successful car dealership, which became a cornerstone of the community under his leadership. His business acumen was matched only by his skill in flipping houses, where he found joy in transforming spaces with the same care and attention that he gave to everything in his life. Known for being "handier than a pocketwatch," Ed could fix almost anything, a talent that he generously shared with friends, family, and neighbors in need.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Ed's heart belonged to his beloved family. He is survived by his wife, Pamela McBee, who stood by his side as a loving partner in all of life's adventures. His children, Jennifer McBee, Richard (Kim) McBee, Anna Hernandez, and Laurie Rubio, will carry forward his teachings and memories with pride and affection. His surviving brothers and sisters, Margie Wellinger, Dollie Wades, Boyd (Kathy) McBee, Brenda Thuss, Mark McBee, and Jean (Kena) Sheppard will deeply feel his loss. Ed's role as a grandfather was one of his greatest joys, and he leaves behind his granddaughter, Aricka Rogers, along with many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss his guidance, humor, and the warmth of his embrace.

Ed's parents, Roy E. McBee, Sr., and Lillian L McBee, along with his sister Jackie Seeman and brother, Floyd McBee, preceded him in death, and one can find solace in the thought of their joyful reunion.

A man of many passions, Ed found solace and excitement in rebuilding cars, a hobby that allowed him to marry his love for mechanics with his creative vision. His hands were rarely still, as he was always immersed in a project that not only challenged his skills but also provided a tangible representation of his hard work and talent.
