September 29, 1970 – June 11, 2025
Ronita Danene Height, a cherished soul whose melody of life was as harmonious as the music she adored, passed away suddenly on June 11, 2025, in Redford, Michigan. Born on September 29, 1970, in Detroit, Michigan, Ronita's journey was one of love, creativity, and unwavering commitment to her community and family. Ronita's life was a testament to the power of nurturing and support, as she was surrounded by a loving family throughout her years. She was the treasured daughter of Bettie Gale, and she shared an unbreakable bond with her children Kristopher, Ronnia, Javon, and Robert Heights, III. Her sister, Ronetta Henderson, along with many adoring grandchildren, will carry forward the light of her legacy. Ronita was preceded in death by her husband of 13 wonderful years, Robert Height Jr., father, Ronald Gale, and her sisters, Rhonda L Gale and Rosalind Denise Gale-Morgan, whose memories remained a guiding force in her life. A lifelong learner, Ronita's thirst for knowledge led her to trade school, where she honed the skills that would later define her professional and volunteer endeavors. Her work as a board member for the local community center, Gathering Place Club House, was not just a position but a calling. She poured her heart into serving others, advocating for the well-being of her neighbors, and ensuring that the center was a beacon of hope and help for many. Ronita's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. A lover of music, she possessed a keen ear and a voice that could only be described as divine. Whether playing the xylophone, clarinet, or flute, her musical talents brought joy to all who had the pleasure of listening. Her culinary skills were legendary, and she loved nothing more than preparing meals that would bring her family and community together, nourishing their bodies and souls. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate circle, as she was a helping hand to those in need. Ronita was known for giving the best advice, and her advocacy for mental health awareness was fueled by a deep understanding of the importance of compassion and support in overcoming life's challenges. Her connection with animals was extraordinary; she was an animal whisperer whose gentle spirit attracted creatures great and small, including her cherished pet birds. An avid collector, Ronita took delight in china dolls and plates, and her collection of miniature cooking utensils was a source of fascination for visitors. Her artistic and creative spirit shone through in her crafts, each piece a testament to her meticulous attention to detail and her imaginative mind. Ronita Danene Height will be remembered as a loving, generous, and creative force whose impact on the world was as significant as it was heartfelt. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished and celebrated by all whose lives she touched. Ronita's song may have ended, but her melody will resonate forever in the hearts of her loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Gathering Place Clubhouse in her honor.
