Obituary

Ronald Hyatt Ringel, a cherished soul known for his boundless kindness and friendly demeanor, passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on May 16, 1949, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Arthur and Dorothy Ringel, both of whom predeceased him, Ronald was a beacon of light to all who knew him. He passed away in Livonia, Michigan, surrounded by the love of his family and the memories of a life richly lived.

Ronald's journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to education and an unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds. After receiving his Master's in Psychology, he spent his career as a teacher in the public school system, where he touched countless lives with his wisdom and compassion. His colleagues remember him not just as a co-worker but as a friend who brought warmth and laughter to the workplace.

Beyond his professional life, Ronald was a man of many passions. His creativity shone brightly through his love for drawing and coloring. He loved watching movies, specifically 'Star Trek', classics and sci-fi movies. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go fishing. He was quite the history buff and enjoyed learning about the past. Ronald was incredibly giving, often sharing everything he had with those around him.

Family was the cornerstone of Ronald's world. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Ringel, and their three loving daughters, Sarah (Chris) Myers, Samantha (Michael) Beck, and Ashley (Michael) Diehl. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and he instilled in his daughters the values of kindness, creativity, and the importance of family. Ronald's joy was multiplied by the presence of his grandchildren, Sabastian, Haylee, Kaylee, Jack, Emma, Maci, and Asher, each of whom he adored. He also leaves behind his sister, Diane Ringel, who predeceased him.

A social butterfly, Ronald had the unique talent of making everyone he met feel like a lifelong friend. He was an avid fan of classic cars and could often be found at local car shows, sharing stories and admiring the sleek lines and polished chrome of vintage automobiles. His love for sports was all-encompassing; he enjoyed watching everything from the major leagues to the more obscure games, with a special place in his heart for the Detroit teams.

One of Ronald's more unique pastimes was watching lawns being mowed. This simple pleasure brought him a sense of peace and contentment, and it was not uncommon to find him gazing out the window with a smile on his face as the lawnmowers hummed in the distance. His teacup chihuahua, Princess, was another source of joy, and the two were inseparable companions.

Ronald made it a point to call everyone he knew every single day. These calls were not mere routine; they were a testament to his dedication to the people he loved. His voice, always full of warmth and interest, will be dearly missed by all who looked forward to those daily conversations.

As we bid farewell to Ronald Hyatt Ringel, we remember a man who lived his life with an open heart and an open hand. His legacy is one of love, artistry, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. He has left behind a canvas filled with the vibrant colors of his personality and the gentle strokes of his kindness. Ronald's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched. He was truly a masterpiece of a man, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
