Roger Lee
Schroeder, Jr.
March 5, 1948 – December 24, 2024
Roger Lee Schroeder Jr., a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 76 in Livonia, MI. Born on March 5, 1948, in Ypsilanti, MI, he was a man who lived a life full of passion, adventure, and love.
A devoted family man, Roger is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances Schroeder, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring marriage. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Myrana (Bruce) Rorabacher and Gregory (Sarah) Schroeder, who were the pride and joy of his life. Roger's role as a grandfather to Anna Grace, Isabella Faith, and Ava Brooklyn was one he cherished deeply, and he took immense pleasure in their every achievement and milestone.
Roger's sisters, Christine Patterson and Deborah (Warren) Thomas, and his brothers, Donnie (Gloria) Schroeder, Gary (Valerie) Schroeder, and Clifford Schroeder, as well as his sister and brother-in-law's, Jean Vanette, Alice (Robert) Webb, Ruth Allen, Sabrina (Scott) Doletzky, Betty (Mike) Baker, Karen Ravi and the late Jim Aycock will remember him as a brother who was always there to offer support and share in life's simple pleasures. He was also loved dearly by his many nieces, nephews, as well as his great nieces and nephews. His parents, Roger Lee Schroeder, Sr. and Grace Arlene Schroeder, as well as father and mother-in-law, William T. Aycock and Anna Lee Aycock preceded him in death, but their legacy continued through Roger's actions and the family traditions he upheld.
An avid fisherman and hunter, Roger found solace and joy in nature. His love for the outdoors was not just a hobby but a way of life that he embraced wholeheartedly. Roger's affection for animals, especially dogs, was well-known among his friends and family. His pets were more than companions; they were part of the family and were treated with the same love and care he showed to all his loved ones.
Those who knew Roger will remember him as a man of integrity and kindness, with a heart that matched his adventurous spirit. He was someone who could be counted on, whether for a word of advice, a helping hand, or simply a listening ear. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the importance of family.
As we bid farewell to Roger Lee Schroeder Jr., we take comfort in the knowledge that his life was well-lived and that his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the moments we hold dear.
A private ceremony will be held by the family to celebrate Roger's life. He will be laid to rest in a place that reflects his love for nature, surrounded by the sounds of the wilderness he so adored. Roger's life was a testament to the beauty of embracing each day with enthusiasm and a kind heart, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
