Robert Lee
Mcewen
December 14, 1973 – January 10, 2026
Robert Lee McEwen, known affectionately as Rob, passed away on January 10, 2026, in Wayne, Michigan. Born on December 14, 1973, in Trenton, Michigan, Rob's infectious spirit and love for life left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Though his time with us was shorter than we hoped, his zest for life and the joy he brought to others will be remembered and cherished.
Rob is preceded in death by his father, Timothy McEwen, and is survived by his mother, Cynthia McEwen; his loving wife, Rose McEwen, whom he met through friends and married on August 18, 2000; his children, Darian, Gaven (Maddi Hall), and Griffin McEwen; his stepchildren, Tyler Phillips and Danny Wardlow; and his cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey, Tanner, Weston, Lincoln, Jace, Wrenlee, and Everli. Rob's brother, James McEwen, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends also survive him, each carrying a piece of his legacy forward.
Rob's professional life was characterized by his dedication and hard work at Ford, where he was respected by colleagues and associates alike. Known for his commitment and strong work ethic, Rob was a pillar in his workplace, always willing to go the extra mile.
His love for sports, especially his unwavering support for the Detroit Lions, was a cornerstone of his interests. Rob's enthusiasm for sports extended beyond mere spectating; he loved to engage in friendly debates and discussions, sharing his insights and passion with fellow fans. His love for his children was unparalleled, and he carried that same adoration into his role as a grandfather, cherishing every moment he spent with his grandbabies.
Rob's sense of humor was one of his most memorable traits. He loved to tell jokes and had a knack for lightening the mood with his playful banter, particularly with his kids. Watching UFC events was a pastime that not only entertained him but also stirred fond memories of his younger years. Rob's love for long car rides, accompanied by the soundtrack of his favorite music, was one of his simple pleasures, offering him time to reflect and relax.
In life, Rob was a beacon of joy and laughter, a man who could be counted on for a heartwarming smile or a reassuring word. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, yet his spirit will continue to inspire those left behind. As we bid farewell to Robert Lee McEwen, we hold tight to the memories he gave us, the love he shared, and the laughter he spread. His legacy will endure in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his remarkable presence.
