Ricky Lee Patterson, a cherished and beloved figure, passed away peacefully in Wayne, MI, on February 4th, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on July 21st, 1948, in Union City, Tennessee, he grew up surrounded by the love and care of his late parents, Vesta and Kathleen Patterson. He carried that legacy of love throughout his life, becoming a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Ricky's life was built on the foundation of his enduring love with Susanne Patterson, his wife of 58 years. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering support for each other. His legacy is carried on by his children, Mark Patterson and Christine Brooks, and he took immeasurable pride in his role as a grandfather to Cody, Kyle, Scott, and Jill. As a great-grandfather to Kyren and Kaiden Brooks, Ricky's joyful spirit and enduring wisdom will guide them through their lives.

For 31 years, Ricky was a dedicated employee at General Motors, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. Upon retirement, he found a second calling, mowing lawns at the Metro Park Golf Course for 11 years. His commitment to his work was reflective of his commitment to life—always thorough, always reliable, and always with a sense of pride.

In his personal time, Ricky was an avid golfer, enjoying many hours on the golf course where he combined his love for the game with his love for nature. His talents extended into the realm of card games, where he could often be found playing poker, either surrounded by friends or in the vibrant atmosphere of a casino.

Ricky's life may be best summarized by his passion for his family, his work, and his hobbies, which all highlighted his joyful and engaging personality. Those who knew him will remember his generous heart, his infectious smile, and the way he brought light into any room he entered. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
