Ramona Dale
Dunigan
October 28, 1968 – March 21, 2025
Ramona "Moni" Dunigan, a beacon of unwavering love, graced this world with her spirited presence on October 28, 1968, in Gladstone, Michigan. Her journey through life was marked by the joy and warmth she shared with everyone around her until her passing on March 21, 2025, in Garden City, Michigan.
Ramona was the cherished daughter of Patricia Caron and the late Leonard Caron. A beloved sister to her brother, Lenny Caron Jr., and sister, Jackie Nedeau. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she embraced every moment she shared with them. Ramona's heart was full of love for her long-time boyfriend, Kevin Wagner, who stood by her side throughout many of life's adventures. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Heather Caron, Chance (Adam) Schiffert, and Alexis Dunigan. Her role as a grandmother to Lucas Caron, Evan Ross, Nolan Kaitschuck, Dupree Schiffert, and Dakota Schiffert was one of her greatest joys.
Moni's educational journey culminated with her graduation from John Glenn High School and earning an associate's degree in college. However, her true passion lay in the simple pleasures of life. Moni's love for animals was evident to all who knew her and it was something she was known for. Especially for Labrador Retrievers, who were her constant companions and brought her immeasurable happiness.
A master of hospitality, Moni found immense joy in hosting parties and cooking huge meals for her family. Her home was a hub of laughter, conversation, and the irresistible aroma of her lovingly prepared dishes. Her kitchen was not just a place for cooking but a sanctuary where memories were made, and bonds were strengthened.
Moni loved everyone unconditionally and lit up any room with her spirited nature. Her infectious laugh and warm embrace were sources of comfort to all. She was a friend to many, offering her time, her home, and her heart without hesitation. Moni's legacy is one of the boundless love she showered upon her family and friends.
Her loving daughters reflected and shared some thoughts and memories of her:
"She was known for her love of animals, especially Labrador Retrievers. She loved hosting parties and cooking ginormous meals."
"My mom was a bold and vibrant woman known for her unapologetic spirit and quick-wittedness. She will be remembered for the joyful celebrations she hosted, her warmth and generosity, and the lasting memories she created that will live on in the hearts of her children."
"My mom was one of the most resourceful people I have ever known. If someone needed help, she was already halfway into solving the problem. Her first instinct was always to give—advice, knowledge, time—whatever she had, she offered. She lit up when I came to her with a problem, excited to share everything she knew. We could talk on the phone for hours, always finding something to laugh about, argue about, or dive deep into. I'll miss those conversations, her way of always knowing something useful, and the way she cared—loudly, fiercely, and without hesitation."
As we bid farewell to Ramona "Moni" Dunigan, we celebrate her life and the imprints she left on our hearts. Her spirit lives on in the stories we share, the traditions she established, and the unwavering love she gave to each of us. Moni's life was a testament to the strength of family, and the joy of living each day with a generous heart.
