Ralph Richard Yakey passed away on January 31, 2024 at the age of 88 in Westland, Michigan. He was born on November 30, 1935 in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late Joseph and Stella Yakey.  Ralph was the beloved husband of Carol Yakey for 24 years.  Loving father of Curtis (Julia) Yakey, Christopher (Jonica) Yakey, the late Randal Yakey and the late Todd Yakey. Dear father-in-law of Yvonne (Mark) Mantych. Adored grandfather of  Brandtly Yakey, Alyssa Yakey, Griffin Yakey, Garret Yakey, Joseph Yakey, Thomas Mantych, and Benjamin Yakey. Brother of Robert (Evelyn) Yakey, the late Joseph Yakey Jr., the late Harry Yakey, and the late Irene Pikora.  Ralph is also cherished and survived by Carol's children:  Cynthia (JP) McBride, Theresa (Lance) Pritchard, Anthony (Corrine) Mardirosian, and  Andrew "Scott" (Karen) Mardirosian, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Ralph was a hard worker with the Sheet Metal Union. He belonged to the Local 292 where he proudly served as a past president of Local 292 retirees.  He came from a long line of military vets and was honored to continue that tradition as a Marine.  In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed golfing and bowling with his family. He also loved hockey and was an avid Red Wings fan.

His generous heart and loving nature will be deeply missed.
