Patricia Ann Merryman, known affectionately to friends and family as Pat, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, in Garden City, Michigan. Born on January 20, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Charles and Dorothy Caswell, Pat's life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and kindness.
Pat was the beloved wife of the late Bobby Merryman, with whom she shared 62 years of devoted marriage. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and an abundance of love. She was a cherished mother to her daughters, Sherri (Dave) Vera-Burgos and Cindy Merryman. Her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was one she held dear to her heart, leaving behind a legacy through her grandchildren, Ben (Jenn) Vera-Burgos, Josh (Kristi) Merryman, Zach (Malorie) Vera-Burgos, Jeremiah (Fatema) Vera-Burgos, and Hannah Vera-Burgos, as well as her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jackson, Kent, Noah, Luke, Olivia, Sophia, and Christian.
Pat's life was marked by her unwavering faith. She was a faithful woman who found strength and solace in her church and church family at Merriman Road Baptist. Her love for her faith was evident in the way she lived her life and in the kindness she showed to others. Pat's sisters, Nancy Roberts and the late Christine Tuzzo, will remember her as a beacon of light who guided their family with grace and compassion.
Those who knew Pat will remember her for her loving nature, her faith-filled spirit, and her kind heart. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel loved and valued. Her warmth and generosity extended beyond her family, touching the lives of everyone she encountered.
Pat had a passion for crafting, a hobby that not only brought her joy but also allowed her to express her creativity and love for beauty. Her handmade gifts were not just items, but tokens of her affection, cherished by those who received them.
