Patricia Ann
Bartosik
March 10, 1940 – May 7, 2024
Patricia Ann (Tompkins) Bartosik left the stage on May 7, 2024, at the age of 84. Her final curtain call took place in Ypsilanti, Michigan at St. Joseph' Hospital not far from the town that first welcomed her smile. Patricia debuted March 10, 1940, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to her late parents Burrell (Ted) and Helen (Perry) Tompkins. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Nicole (Bartosik) Stasser and her son that she was so proud of, Bryan (Michelle) Bartosik. Patricia's family was not just important, they were her everything. She was known as "Nana Pat" to so many and took that title very seriously to her grandchildren Kendall, Tyler, Kaylee, Blakelee, and Leyton. Patricia was the first of five children. Proceeded in death by her beloved brother and sister-in-law, George and Carol Tompkins. She leaves behind her brothers, sister, and best friends, Douglas (Doug) Tompkins, Thomas (Tom) and sister-in-law Kathy Tompkins, Kathy Makino-Leipsitz and brother-in-law Mark Leipsitz. Her one and only surviving aunt, Carroll LaCroix wasn't just family, she was someone that shared phone conversations 2-3 times a day. She was deeply loved by her cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many friends. Patricia grew up in a very close-knit family on Chestnut Street in Wayne and graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1958. She married Chet Bartosik and raised her family only one mile from her parent's home allowing her to visit them daily and take care of them until their passing.
Patricia was one of a kind. She had no filter on what she thought and wanted to say. If she thought that your hair looked better blonde, she was telling you. As former Miss Wayne County, her sense of style was impeccable. She believed in looking her best, which often meant outshining the disco ball at any party. Her lips never EVER went without lipstick. Her hair never EVER went without getting done every Tuesday. Patricia's true love, "dance", was, though, her greatest passion. She never missed a dance recital and traveled all over the world to show her support. She was a fixture and biggest fan at her niece's dance studio, Planetdance, and will be truly missed by the whole Planetdance family.
Patricia and her family never went without spending weeks in the summer in Petosky, where her family is originally from. The special occasions always had her famous white cake and potato salad on the dinner table.
In a world that can sometimes be a tough crowd, she always had something to say to make you laugh, the kind of person you'd want in a sitcom. Patricia's legacy is one of laughter and love, and all the memories will go on forever.
As we bid farewell to Patricia Ann Bartosik, lets honor her memory by living as she did. She may have left the stage but never gone in our hearts. CURTAIN DOWN, APPLAUSE UP, AND LIGHTS TWINKLING IN THE SKY FOR THE STAR THAT SHE WAS.
