March 14, 1934-December 26, 2022

Nancy Helen Birchard passed away peacefully on December 26, 2022. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 14, 1934 to Leslie W. and Helen Backus. Nancy was married to Harry C. Birchard for 70 wonderful years. Harry preceded her in death by 44 Days. Nancy was a great loving mother to three children: Mary (Mike) Guilbault, Jon (Sherry) Birchard, Amy (Paul) Birchard-Lewis; grandmother to six: Michael (Leona) Guilbault,Matthew Guilbault, Michelle (Yeo Joon) Yun, Jon A. Birchard,  Michael (Donna) Aulette, Nancy (Eric) Laho: greatgrandmother to 13 an 1/2: Jackson and Lucas Guilbault,Juliette and Jonathon Guilbault, Marley, Maddox and Che Yun, Jaeda and baby Girl Birchard due in March 2023, Megan and Brendan Aulette, Liam, Terri and Madison Laho.

Nancy was raised in Dearborn, Michigan and graduated from Dearborn High School class of 1952. She was crowned homecoming Queen in the fall of 1951. She maintained lifetime friendships with her Dearborn classmates.She was an original "GVC" member. She will always be our "Queen".

In 1954 she moved to Nankin Township (Westland), where Dad built his bride a new house on Oakwood Lane. Raising her 3 children there she was very involved and loving mother. She did everything from school projects to PTA, sewing, gardening and a Member of the First Congregational Church of Wayne. She was a good neighbor and friend to all in our small Oakwood Lane community. She was always there for us.

Moving again to Ypsilanti township in 1977, Mom and Dad had a condo on Ford Lake. They spent countless hours boating, sitting by the pool, making new friends, and entertaining loved ones. Condo life was a perfect fit for them.

Nancy had a good life, 88 years 9 months and 12 days. We will miss her very much.

Nancy's remains will be cremated and interred at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beveryly Hills, Michigan beside her beloved husband Harry.

A memorial service will take place in the spring for Nancy and Harry.
