Obituary

Nancy Ann Allen, a beacon of love and adventure, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at her home in Northville, MI, at the age of 81. Born on July 24, 1944, in Escanaba, MI, Nancy's life was marked by her unwavering kindness and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

Nancy's journey began as the cherished daughter of Donald and Luella Patterson, and she grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings. She was a sister who shared an unbreakable bond with Carol, Kathleen, Stephen, Margie, John, and Terry. Her parents and siblings were her first playmates, confidants, and companions on countless adventures.

In her professional life, Nancy was a respected Business Representative for AT&T, where she applied her Associates degree in Business with dedication and excellence. Nancy's work ethic and reliability made her a valued colleague and mentor to many.

The heart of Nancy's world was her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Dennis Eckert, with whom she shared a love that was both a shelter in times of storm and a launching pad for joyous explorations. Together, they wandered the lights of Las Vegas and the shores of Venice, FL, creating memories that will forever be treasured.

Nancy was the proud mother to her son, Robert (Barbara) Allen, II, and her daughters, Elizabeth Allen and Laura J. (David) Poma. Her role as a mother was paramount, and she instilled in her children the values of love, kindness, and the courage to embrace life's adventures. Her siblings, Carol (the late David) Wedge, Kathleen (the late Robert Moe) Killingbeck, Stephen (Rosanne) Patterson, Margie (the late Charlie) Pierson, John (Sheree) Patterson, and Terry Patterson, will hold her memory dear as a sister who was always present and full of warmth.

Nancy's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Bobby 3 (Amber), Erica (Justin), Jonathan, Austa (Ryan), Melissa (Wheeler) and Valerie, as well as her great-grandchildren, Paisley, Presley, Justin (JJ), and Cameron. She was a grandmother who reveled in her role, sharing not just her love but the zest for life that made every moment with her a gift.

An adventurous soul, Nancy loved to play tennis and pickleball, and she was no stranger to the thrill of rollerblading. Her spirit of adventure was contagious, inspiring all who knew her to embrace life with open arms. Game nights with family and friends were a regular highlight, filled with laughter and camaraderie, a testament to Nancy's belief in the importance of being together.

Nancy's kindness and loving nature were her hallmarks. She was the person you could always count on, the one who would offer help without hesitation. Her reliability was as steadfast as her love, and she will be remembered as a woman who lived life fully, with an open heart and an enduring smile.

We bid farewell to Nancy Ann Allen, whose life was a tapestry of love, adventure, and kindness. Her story does not end here, for she lives on in the hearts she touched and the lives she enriched. Nancy's spirit will forever be a guiding light to those she leaves behind, a reminder to embrace each day with love and a sense of adventure.
