Michelle Denise
Bolig
July 2, 1957 – May 31, 2024
Michelle Denise Bolig, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024, at her home in Westland, Michigan. Born on July 2, 1957, in Detroit, Michelle was a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who lived her life with a loving heart and open arms.
Michelle was the beloved wife of the late Rick Bolig and a devoted mother to Heather (Robert) Rising and Scott (Sarah) Bolig. Her joy was multiplied as a grandmother to Madeline, Karmiyah, and Faith. She was a dear sister to Kimberely Lamb, and Kathleen (Robert) Pedroza. Although her mother, Loretta Doran, and her siblings, Loretta Hoeffel and James Doran preceded her in death, the legacy of their family's love lives on through Michelle's life and memories.
Michelle's love for life was evident in her many interests and activities. She was a crafty soul, taking pleasure in ceramics, and an avid bird watcher, finding peace in the simple joys of nature. Her mind was as sharp as her wit, often found immersed in puzzles or engaging in a spirited game of poker with friends. Michelle's love for playing cards was more than a pastime; it was a way to connect with those she held dear.
Family time was the cornerstone of Michelle's life. She initiated the treasured family fun night tradition, gathering her loved ones every Friday night for laughter and togetherness. Her culinary skills were legendary among family and friends, especially her famous spaghetti sauce, which was a highlight at many family gatherings.
Michelle's love extended beyond her immediate circle through her skill in canning, a hobby that allowed her to share the fruits of her labor-especially salsa, dill pickles, and beets-with special friends and family. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her creations were a reflection of her desire to bring happiness to others.
Michelle's adventurous spirit shone through her annual girls' trips, a tradition she started and maintained with her closest friends. These excursions were filled with stories and memories that will be fondly recounted for years to come.
Her home was filled with the gentle purring of her two adored cats, Dommy and Bunny, who were more than pets; they were her companions and a source of constant comfort.
Those who knew Michelle will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and friendliness. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel special and valued, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Michelle's absence will be deeply felt by her family and friends. Her spirit, however, will continue to inspire and guide them, as they carry forward the traditions and values she instilled.
In the tapestry of lives she touched, Michelle Denise Bolig's threads are golden and bright, weaving patterns of love and kindness that will be cherished forever. Her laughter, her warmth, and her unwavering love will never be forgotten. Michelle's life was a testament to the beauty of caring for others, and her memory will live on as a treasure in the hearts of all who knew her.
