Matthew James Boyagian, affectionately known to many as "Chief," passed away on March 22, 2026, in Wayne, Michigan. Born on August 16, 1965, in Traverse City, Michigan, Matthew was a true beacon of joy and strength throughout his sixty years of life.
Matthew's early years were filled with the love and support of his parents, Kaham and Sharron Boyagian, and his siblings Diana (Rick) Sylvester, Laurie (Mike) Pickett, Karen (John) Natiw, and Michael Boyagian. He shared an unbreakable bond with his brother Michael, a companionship that would resonate throughout his life. His family circle extended to include cherished siblings Christine Wilson, Gregory "Peppy" (Lois) Peplow, Greg Fish, Ross Wyatt, Amy (Jon) Carroll, and he held dear the memories of his late siblings; Eugene Wilson, Lillian Garcia, William Wilson, Leonard Wilson, Nick Wilson, Melvin Wilson, Clifford Wilson, Matthew Boyer, Luke Coleman, and Daniel Wilson.
Matthew's heart found its match in Melanie, whom he met during a lively game of pool at a local bar. Their love story blossomed, culminating in marriage on July 7, 2007. Together, they welcomed their beloved son, Christopher, who became the center of Matthew's world.
