Obituary

Linda Sue Kelbassa, a beacon of love and the family's cherished "glue," passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, surrounded by her adoring family. Born on January 27, 1949, Linda's life was a tapestry of deep connections, unwavering love, and shared adventures that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Linda's journey began as the daughter of the late Mavis Wood and grew into a narrative rich with love and laughter. Her marriage to her loving husband, Terry Kelbassa, on April 22, 1978, was a testament to enduring companionship, having celebrated 45 beautiful years together. Their love story was one for the ages, beginning when Terry returned home from the Navy and found Linda, the captivating new neighbor over the fence. From that serendipitous moment, their lives intertwined, creating a history filled with joy and mutual devotion.

Together, Linda and Terry raised a wonderful family, including children Michael Chafins, Steven (Jenny) Chafins, Carol Jenkins, Denise (Chad) Gumbert, and John Paul Kelbassa. Linda's role as a mother was one of her greatest joys, and she instilled in her children the values of kindness, thoughtfulness, and unconditional love. She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to her life.

Linda's sister, Carol Feala, shared in the countless cherished memories that were woven through the years. The bond between the sisters was a source of strength and comfort, a bond that will continue to live on in spirit.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Linda found solace and excitement in camping with her husband and family. Whether it was under the stars in a tent or in the comfort of their camper, Linda reveled in the beauty of Michigan's landscapes, especially the picturesque Upper Peninsula. These trips were more than just vacations; they were opportunities for Linda to connect deeply with her loved ones, creating lasting memories that her family will treasure forever.

Linda's legacy is one of unwavering love and the simple, profound joy of being together. She was her family's cornerstone, always there with a listening ear, a comforting hug, or a word of encouragement. Her kindness was a gentle force that made the world a better place, and her thoughtfulness touched the lives of many.

Terry always referred to Linda as his "beautiful wife," a title that encompassed not only her outer grace but the immense beauty of her spirit. Their friendship was the foundation of their marriage, and together they navigated life's challenges and celebrated its triumphs.

As we say goodbye to Linda Sue Kelbassa, we reflect on a life well-lived, a life filled with love and selfless dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Linda's memory will be cherished, her laughter will echo in the hearts of her loved ones, and her legacy of love will endure for generations to come.
