Larry Carroll
Neal
March 5, 1959 – March 7, 2026
Larry Carroll Neal, known affectionately as LC to his friends, passed away on March 7, 2026, at his home in Belleville, Michigan. Born on March 5, 1959, in Wayne, Michigan, LC's exuberance for life and his friendly and outgoing spirit touched all who knew him. Though he has left this world, the memories he created and the joy he spread will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
LC was an alumnus of the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. For 30 years, he worked at Ford Motor Company, where his hard work and humor were well known. He carried on his father's legacy working at the Livonia Transmission Plant.
An aficionado of the arts, LC's passion for music and the theater was a defining aspect of his life. He often reminisced about his time in a choir group, which afforded him the unforgettable experience of traveling and performing across Europe. These moments, set against the backdrop of the continent's most famous and historic venues, were cherished as the highlight of his life. LC's love for the arts extended beyond music; he actively supported the arts and began curating a collection of art for his home.
LC's interests were diverse and rich, reflecting his appreciation for beauty and his zest for life. He was an avid traveler, finding peace and solace in the tranquility of Higgins Lake, Michigan. His passion for fine dining was matched by his joy in taking leisurely drives in his beloved Bronco, appreciating the simple pleasure of cruising through the countryside.
A man who took great pride in his home, LC loved to tend to his lawn, plant trees, and adorn his garden with ornamental pieces. His love for animals was evident in the love he gave all of his pets. They were of great importance to him. The love he showed his dog, Dobby, as well as past pets, was profound. He treated them with the same intensity and care one would show to their own children.
LC's generosity extended into his personal hobbies as well. He found joy in thrifting with his great friend Sheila, a pastime that became particularly delightful as he furnished his new home with unique finds. His creative spirit also led him to take floral classes with Colette at Garden Fantasy on Main in Belleville, where he enjoyed learning the artistry of floral arrangement.
Described by those who knew him as funny, generous, and thoughtful, LC never missed an opportunity to show care for others. His legacy is carried on by his loving sisters, Kathy (David) Hatfield, Ruth (Zeljko) Deljevic, and Danette (Robert) Morrison, along with many nieces and nephews. Though his parents, Dan and Betty Neal, preceded him in death, the values they instilled in him shone brightly throughout his life. He is also preceded in death by his beloved niece, Kelly Hatfield.
LC's passing leaves a void in the lives of many, but his spirit will continue to inspire laughter, kindness, and a passion for life in all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to Larry, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man dearly loved. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty he so cherished in life.
