Kimberly Jo
Harding
April 28, 1959 – February 26, 2025
Kimberly Jo Harding, a beacon of unwavering love and infectious laughter, departed from this world on February 26, 2025, in Lake Orion, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of joy, care, and an unbreakable familial bond. Born on April 28, 1959, in Broward County, Florida, to the late Archie Davenport and Sylvia Porter, Kim's journey through life was a testament to the power of positivity, a narrative that she crafted with the same tenderness and attention she devoted to her cherished family and friends.
Kim's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with the threads of selflessness and devotion. As a mother, she was unparalleled, raising her children Nicholas, Richard, Derek, Christopher, and Jennifer with a love that knew no bounds. Each of her sons – Nicholas (Claire), Richard (Crystal), Derek (Julia), Christopher (Aubrey) – and her daughter, Jennifer Wallace, flourished under her nurturing guidance. Kim's brothers Frank (Mary Ann), Tom (the late Inez), Archie (Patty) Davenport, Jr., Robert Kling, Carl Davenport, and Scott (Molly) Mitchell, alongside her sister Lori (Christopher) Watkins, will remember her as the glue that connected the family's many pieces into a cohesive whole.
Her grandchildren – Hailey, Noah, Hannah, Allison, Mila, Santi, Tucker, Richard, Hunter, and Alexandria – were the apples of her eye, each one a testament to her boundless capacity for love. Kim's life was a celebration, a series of moments that she filled with laughter and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Kim retired from St Joe's Ann Arbor where she gained many friends of which she felt were family.
Her interests were a mirror to her soul – she loved her family above all, especially reveling in the joy of her grandchildren. Kim had a zest for life, embracing her role as the family's cornerstone. NASCAR races, the serene beauty of Tybee Island in Georgia, and the simple pleasure of camping were among her favorite pastimes.
She always went above and beyond for her family and friends, her actions driven by a heart that knew only how to give.
Kim's journey through life may have reached its sunset, but the dawn of her impact is everlasting. She now joins her beloved husband, Donald Lee Harding, her treasured son, Jason Davenport, and her siblings, Edwin Kling and Mary Wyatt, who preceded her in death. They await her with open arms, ready to embrace her in the love that she so freely gave during her time on earth.
Let us celebrate Kim, not with tears of sorrow but with the joy that she would have wished for us.
