Kevin Joseph Hinz, a beloved family man and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, at the age of 67 in Dearborn, Michigan. Born on September 11, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, Kevin's early years were filled with the bustling energy of the city that he would always hold dear to his heart.

Kevin's journey through life was characterized by the warmth and ease of his personality. Known for his easy-going nature, he had the remarkable ability to get along with everyone he met. His infectious smile and genuine interest in others' well-being allowed him to form lasting friendships and become a beloved member of his community.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Hinz, and by his first wife, Iris Hinz, with whom he shared over three decades of devoted marriage and the joy of raising their child. His journey continued alongside Shelby Hinz, whom he met through a neighbor and married.  Together, they shared seven beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and mutual support. Their home became a haven of joy and togetherness, not only for them but also for their blended family.

Kevin was the proud patriarch of a large and loving family. He leaves behind his daughter; Ginny and her husband Phil, his step children; Stephen, and Nicole and her husband Nick. He was a doting grandfather to Natalie, Noelle, Nova, Karah, Nicholas, Nathanial, Jace, Conner, Kayden, Kylee, Mason, Kendall, Kayle, Austin, and Ciara. Each of his grandchildren will carry forward the lessons of kindness and the joyful spirit he instilled in them. Kevin is also survived by step-daughter, Regina (Larry).

Professionally, Kevin was known for his friendly demeanor and his willingness to lend a helping hand. His work history was marked by an unwavering commitment to volunteerism. He spent countless hours contributing to the betterment of Lincoln Park Schools and supporting various charitable organizations. Kevin's selfless acts were a testament to his loving nature and his desire to make a positive impact on the world around him.

An avid sports fan, Kevin's enthusiasm for sports was unmatched. He cherished the moments spent cheering on his favorite teams, sharing in the excitement and camaraderie that only sports can bring. His love for westerns also occupied many of his leisure hours, as he enjoyed the tales of heroism and adventure that unfolded on the screen.

Among his many interests, playing bingo was a particular favorite. The thrill of the game, the anticipation of the call, and the community of fellow players brought Kevin immense joy. It was in these simple pleasures that Kevin's contented nature shone brightest.

Kevin will be remembered as a man of integrity, generosity, and love. His legacy is one of enduring connections and heartfelt memories, a testament to a life well-lived and a man well-loved.

As we say farewell to Kevin, we take solace in the knowledge that his spirit lives on through the lives of those he touched. His laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering positivity are gifts that will continue to inspire and comfort us all.

Kevin was survived by his siblings; Brian (Jodi), Jason (Gloria), David (Debbee), Marie (Jeff), his devoted wife, Shelby, his loving children, grandchildren, and a community of friends who will miss him dearly.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Kevin Joseph Hinz will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends
