It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Ditmore, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, who left us peacefully on May 4, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on December 19, 1938, in Maryville, Tennessee, Kenneth lived a life devoted to family and hard work, traits he instilled in all who knew him.
Kenneth was a true family man, whose love for his wife, Patricia Ditmore, was evident from the moment they met as teenagers in 1955. Their bond blossomed into a beautiful marriage on June 20, 1959, a partnership that lasted nearly seven decades. Together, they created a close-knit family, raising their children, Ann Marie and Christopher (Helen), and cherishing the time spent with their grandchildren-Amanda, Patricia (Alexander), Rachel, and Justin-as well as their great-grandchildren, Kenny, Jacob, Adaline, Noah, and Ellis. Kenneth's devotion to his family was unparalleled, and he was always their steadfast rock, ensuring they knew they were cherished.
Kenneth dedicated 30 years of his life to the Ford Motor Company, earning deep respect from colleagues and friends alike. His unwavering work ethic was remarkable; he once even reported to work with a broken collarbone to ensure he fulfilled his responsibilities. His motto, "You treat me well, I treat you well," truly embodied the caring nature he extended to everyone in his life.
Beyond his professional life, Kenneth was a man of many interests. He was an avid coin collector, enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles, and loved to engage in friendly games of poker and cribbage with his family. Kenneth held a great passion for sports, especially Nascar, football, and baseball, all of which he enjoyed watching with his family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
Kenneth is also survived by his brothers, Phil (Sharon), Gary, and Maxie (Vickie) Ditmore; and his sister, Lesa (the late Tim) Blackburn, his sister-in-law, Fritzie Ditmore, and numerous nieces and nephews. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know him.
Kenneth Wayne Ditmore will be remembered not only for his dedication and hard work but also for the love and joy he brought to the lives of those around him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and warmth he gave to so many.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Grace Ditmore, and brother, Curtis Ditmore.
