Kenneth Allen
Overstreet
June 18, 1951 – May 21, 2025
Kenneth Allen Overstreet, a cherished movie buff, devoted family man, and beacon of kindness, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, in Westland, Michigan. Born on June 18, 1951, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Kenneth's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his loved ones and an admirable passion for the simple joys that life offers.
Kenneth's early years in Ypsilanti were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family. He was the beloved son of the late Dennis and Rita Overstreet, who instilled in him the values of kindness and generosity that would become his hallmark. Kenneth's life was further enriched by the love of his life, Pam Overstreet, whom he married on September 29, 1987-the day that was to be the due date of their son. Their meeting, thanks to his brother Gary, blossomed into a partnership filled with love and mutual respect until Pam's passing in April of 2017.
The legacy of Kenneth's gentle spirit is carried on by his devoted son, Dennis Overstreet, who was the pride and joy of his life. Kenneth's nurturing presence will also be deeply missed by his siblings: Jack (Leslie) Overstreet, Denise (Larry) Webb, Mary Ann Czajkowski, Vickie (David) Troup-Thigpen and the late Gary Overstreet. His absence will leave a void in the hearts of his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored and who looked up to him as a pillar of the family.
Kenneth was a man of simple pleasures; he found solace in the classics, whether they were the timeless Westerns starring icons like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood or the melodies of classic country music that often filled the rooms of his home. His love for classic TV shows was more than just a hobby-it was a way to connect with the past and share stories with his family.
Despite being a homebody, Kenneth was always the first to offer help when needed. His willingness to lend a hand was just one of the many ways he expressed his love and loyalty to his family and friends. His kind and generous nature was not only evident in his actions but also in the way he lived his life each day.
Kenneth's life was a testament to the power of kindness. He was a man who cherished his relationships and nurtured them with care and dedication. He was a source of strength and comfort to all who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire those he has left behind.
As we bid farewell to Kenneth Allen Overstreet, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart generously shared. His was a journey of unwavering love, quiet strength, and enduring legacy. Kenneth's story does not end with his passing, for in our hearts and memories, he lives on, guiding us with the same kindness and generosity that defined his time with us.
Kenneth's family will gather in private to honor his memory and the indelible mark he has left on their lives. His spirit, forever etched in the annals of their history, will continue to be celebrated through the stories they share and the love they carry forward. Though Kenneth's physical presence is no longer with us, the essence of who he was-a kind, generous, and loyal man-will never be forgotten.
