Judy Fay
Wohlgemuth
Feb 19, 1944 — Jun 20, 2026
Cadillac Memorial Gardens West

Judy Fay Wohlgemuth passed away on June 20, 2026, in Jackson, Michigan, at the age of 82. She was born February 19, 1944, the daughter of the late Elwood and Mary Chapman.
Judy was a Godley woman through and through, raised in the Baptist faith that stayed close to her heart for her entire life. She never missed her church programs and held tightly to the beliefs that guided her. A traditional Southern woman at her core, Judy carried herself with warmth, grace, and a good-natured spirit that made her impossible not to love.
Those who knew Judy knew she could talk your ear off - and loved every minute of it. But just as quickly as she could fill a room with conversation, she could fall quiet and simply listen, offering a sympathetic ear and the kind of straight-talking advice that only came from a lifetime of living. She loved having company around her, whether it was family stopping by, friends visiting, or simply someone to sit and pass the time with over a crossword or a word search, two of her favorite pastimes.
Animals held a special place in Judy's heart, especially birds, which she loved to watch and care for, and the many dogs who were her loyal companions through the years. Above all, Judy adored her family. She was fun, happy, and good-spirited, and she poured that joy into every relationship she had.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Mary Chapman; her sister, Gracie Anderson; her husband, Darryl Lee Wohlgemuth; and her children, Michelle Wohlgemuth and Darryl Rudolph Wohlgemuth.
She is survived by her brother, Stanley Chapman; her grandsons, Darryl (Katie) Lee Rudolph Wohlgemuth and Kenneth (Casey) Wohlgemuth; her great-granddaughters, Ren Wohlgemuth and Anberlin Wohlgemuth; her former daughter-in-law, Lisa Ochalek; Harlie Geiser, sister to her grandsons; and her nieces and nephews, Melanie, Doug, and Jeff. She is also survived by many other family members and dear friends who will carry her memory forward.
Judy will be remembered for her quick laugh, her open door, her love of family and animals, and the countless stories and conversations she shared with everyone lucky enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, faith, and good humor that will not be forgotten.
