Jon was born a dimpled baby in Ann Arbor to Paul and Pat Cousins on a glorious day, April 22, 1965.  The world has been a better place since.  Jon passed away in Jackson, Michigan, on December 13th, 2023, when his large, generous, giving, heart just stopped.

He is survived by brothers Kevin (Tracey) and Dennis (Kathy), Aunts and Uncles Mary Alice and Gary Allen, Thurmie Triplett, Wally and Sharon Steward, Raylene Izak, Dona and Larry Zuckerman, Mona Messenger, Ann and Bill Basham, Barbara Rippee, Nephew Kyle Cousins, Nieces Kara Cousins and Maura Cousins and several loving cousins. Jonathan was preceded in death by parents Pat and Paul Cousins, and his grandparents.

Jon graduated from Dexter High School in 1983, where he was active in FFA, Drama Club, Student Council, Golf, and talking a lot in class and went on to graduate from Eastern Michigan University.

Jon worked in various jobs until he found his people, and the moniker Scooter, working on TV shows, Videos, and Movies as a Grip. Jon was a people pleasing mensch with a get it done attitude, always with a side of goofball.

We have heard from many of his friends about the impact he had on their lives, how he always made time for a conversation, the kindness he showed, and how much he will be missed.

A Celebration of Jonathan's Life will be held to remember him at the Dexter Library on Saturday January 13th at 2 PM in Dexter, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jon's name to Rotary Club Foundation at PO Box 37 Dexter, Michigan 48130.  Donations will be used for a scholarship fund for very average students with big hearts.
