Janet Dennis (Smitherman) was born on May 28, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away on August 27, 2024 at the age of 74 in Westland, Michigan. Janet is survived by her Husband, Daniel D. Dennis, Daughter, Amy (Joe) Singleton, grandchildren, Hannah (John) Dennis, Adam (Katie) Singleton, Emilee (Nathan) Southard, Joshua Dennis, Jeremy (Kylie) Singleton, 8 Great-grandsons, and Brother, Danny (Paulette) Smitherman. She is preceded in death by her Son, Todd D. Dennis, Father, Cecil Smitherman, Mother, Eunice Earline Smitherman, and Sister, Debra Thompson.

Janet and her husband met at church in 1964 and were later married in 1969. They had two children who were both dedicated at the same church.

Janet loved being a meemaw to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and also loved being an aunt to her nieces and nephews. Janet loved the Lord and was always very active in church. During her lifetime, she served in the capacity of working in the food pantry, as a youth leader, singer, and she even played the accordion. Janet loved music and sang alongside her sister, Debbie, and close friend, Mary.

Janet's other hobbies included camping and bowling; at one time she was even on a bowling league. She also loved to take an annual trip with her cousins.
