Obituary

Jaleel Batalonga, a beacon of light and love, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, at her home in Belleville, Michigan. Born on October 5, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, Jaleel's life was a testament to the power of joy and the strength of the human spirit. She was a cherished daughter to her parents, Jimmy Seatts and Rosa Grimes, and a beloved sister to Tony Seatts and Rosa Seatts.

Jaleel was the proud mother of five children: Jeremiah, Yeriel, Jamicia, Jathan, and Joshelyn. Her love and legacy continued to blossom through her grandchildren—Jeremiah, Yliyah, Nuwachyah, Shiheim, Aniah, Nylai, Alexandria, Alexis, Acen, Elijah, Jakob, Liam, Phoenix, Caden, Orion, and Havanna—and her great-grandchildren, Julius, Azariah, Priscilla, Jahmari, and Shiheim Jr. Her family was the core of her existence, and she nurtured each relationship with care and affection.

With a high school diploma in hand, Jaleel dedicated her life to the healing arts as a masseuse in physical therapy, where she provided comfort and relief to countless individuals. Her professional path reflected her nurturing nature and her commitment to the well-being of others.

Jaleel was a spirited soul, known for her faith-filled heart and friendly demeanor. Her interests in holistic discoveries, such as natural medicine, and her love for food tasting, hot water with lemon, music, and dancing, revealed her zest for life. Jaleel's outgoing personality made her a people person, and her spirituality was deeply woven into the fabric of her being.

Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit—vibrant and warm—will continue to inspire and guide us. Jaleel Batalonga's life was a dance of joy, a song of faith, and a story of love that will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
