Obituary

Ilene Havro, a cherished matriarch, artist, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Livonia, Michigan. Born on February 9, 1945, in Westland, Michigan, Ilene's vivacious spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.

Ilene was the heart of her family, a bond that was evident in the love and care she showered upon them. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Harris, her beloved husband, James Havro, with whom she shared a beautiful union beginning on December 20, 1971, and her sibings, Elizabeth Harris, Harold Harris Jr., Shirley Havro, Bob Harris, Irene Geddes, Chuck Harris, RuthAnn Harris, and Roy Harris. Ilene's legacy is carried on through her children, James (Marilou) Havro Jr., Harold "Peanut" Havro, Jeff Havro, Joseph (Bobby) Havro, and Samantha Havro. Her grandchildren, Brittany (Drew) Eminger, Joseph Havro, Tabitha Havro, Adam Havro, Jimmy Havro, William Havro, and Alexander Havro, and her great-granddaughter, Lily Havro, will forever cherish the memories of their loving grandmother. Ilene is also survived by her sister, Henrietta Harris, and brother-in-law, Joseph (Linda) Havro, along with a vast extended family.

Ilene's life was a testament to her caring and generous spirit. Those who knew her often remarked on her ornery sense of humor, which brought laughter and joy to any gathering. She was a source of strength and support, always ready to help anyone in need with a warm embrace or a kind word.

Her love for her grandchildren was unparalleled. She reveled in their accomplishments and adventures, always eager to hear about their lives and offer her wisdom. Ilene's home was filled with the laughter and chatter of her beloved family, and her presence was a comfort to all.

Animals held a special place in Ilene's heart, and she often found solace and joy in the company of them. Her artistic talents were many; she was a skilled seamstress and painter, leaving behind a beautiful tapestry of creations that her family will treasure. Ilene's collection of gel pens was a testament to her love for color and creativity, and her artwork is a vibrant reflection of her spirit.

Shopping was another of Ilene's favorite pastimes, a hobby that she approached with enthusiasm and joy. Her love for baking was legendary, especially her cookies and cakes, which were eagerly anticipated at family gatherings and special occasions.

Ilene Havro was indeed a loving soul, whose kindness and nurturing nature were her greatest gifts. She will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on, not only in the hearts of her family and friends but also in the beauty she created and the lives she touched. Her laughter, her love, and her artistry have left an indelible mark on the world, and for that, we are all grateful. Ilene's journey through life was one of love, laughter, and kindness, a journey that has now taken her to a place of eternal peace.
