Harry Chaffee Birchard Jr. passed away peacefully on November 12, 2022. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 25, 1931 to Harry Chaffee Birchard Sr. and Margaret Piper Birchard.  He was married to Nancy Helen Backus Birchard for 70 beautiful years.  Harry was the father to three children: Mary (Mike) Guilbault, Jon (Sherry) Birchard, Amy (Paul) Birchard-Lewis; grandfather to six: Michael (Leona) Guilbault, Matthew Guilbault, Michelle (Yeo Joon) Yun, Jon A. Birchard, Michael (Donna) Aulette, Nancy (Eric) Laho; great-grandfather to 13 and 1/2: Jackson and Lucas Guilbault, Juliette and Jonathan Guilbault, Marley, Maddox, and Che Yun, Jaeda and Baby Birchard due March 2023, Megan and Brendan Aulette, Liam, Terri, and Madison Laho.

Harry was a proud graduate of St. John's Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin, class of 1950.  After graduation, Harry started his career in the Building Construction Management Business where he was a well-respected Project Manager for nearly 50 years.  He loved building, and he was good at it.  Harry loved spending time with his family, vacationing in Florida, flying kites, fishing, boating, golfing, and being a camp cook.  He loved his Scamp Trailer; he always said it was the best money he ever spent.  Harry was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge 0172 in Dearborn, Michigan and the Shrine.

Harry's wishes were to be cremated and interred at his family's plot in Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Michigan alongside his father and mother.  A memorial service will take place at a later date.
