Obituary

Grace Lorene Bryngelson, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Livonia, MI, at the age of 94. Born on August 12, 1931, in Newport, TN, she was a daughter to the late Ernest and Viola Smith, and a devoted wife to her beloved late husband, Norris Bryngelson, with whom she shared a loving marriage from 1953 until his passing in 1989.

Grace's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit of giving and caring. She was a cherished mother to Brenda (Keith) Olivares and Holly (Kent) Greniewicki. Her legacy of love continued through her grandchildren, Mathew (Rebecca) Olivares, Catherine (Justin) Coffey, Caleb Greniewicki, Daniel Greniewicki, and Christopher Greniewicki, and was further blessed with great-grandchildren, Talan and Octavia. Grace held a special place in her heart for her siblings, the late Charles Elmer, the late Pete Smith, the late Rex Allen, the late Josephine, Millie Venable, the late Ernestine Nolan, the late Carl Smith, the late Helen Bullington, the late Linda Simpson, the late Barbara Powers, and Gail Simpson.

Known as the "Pillar of the Church," Grace dedicated much of her life to the Prince of Peace Church, where she was a cornerstone of the community. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her tireless efforts to serve others, whether it was volunteering, cooking meals, or simply offering a shoulder to lean on. Her love knew no bounds, and she was always ready to give, quite literally, the shirt off her back to anyone in need.

Grace's home was a hub of warmth and hospitality, always open for family gatherings, baby showers, bridal showers, or graduation parties. She was a consummate hostess, delighting in the joy and fellowship that came from bringing people together. Her culinary talents extended beyond her own kitchen, as she generously cooked meals for the Salvation Army in her spare time, further extending her reach to those less fortunate.

Described as the matriarch of her family, Grace's loving, kind, and generous nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her actions spoke volumes about the kind of person she was, and her impact will continue to resonate through the countless lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to experience her kindness and unwavering support.

Grace Lorene Bryngelson's life was one of selfless service and boundless love, and though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever inspire those who carry her memory in their hearts. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on for generations.
