June 14, 1953 – October 14, 2025
Gary Robert Davidson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on October 14, 2025, in Westland, MI. Born on June 14, 1953, in Sandusky, MI, Gary's life was marked by his enduring love for his family, his passion for the outdoors, and his commitment to sharing his knowledge and joy with those around him. Gary was the beloved husband of Virginia Davidson, with whom he shared 24 wonderful years of marriage characterized by mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering support. He was a devoted father to his children, Lisa (Joe) Clark, David (Kat) Hosking, and Ron Hosking. His role as a grandfather to Madalyn, Morgan, Skyler, and Ronald II, and as a great-grandfather to Gracelynn, was one he cherished with all his heart. He took great pride in teaching them about the natural world and instilling in them the values of respect and safety in outdoor activities. His love for the outdoors extended to his favorite pastimes, which included hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and shooting guns with his brother-in-laws, Dwayne and Rob. Gary's enthusiasm for these activities was infectious, and he often found himself as the centerpiece of family hunting trips and outdoor gatherings, sharing stories and imparting wisdom. Family was the cornerstone of Gary's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; his children and their spouses, who he regarded as his own; his grandchildren, who were his joy; and his great-granddaughter, who was the newest light of his life. His spirit will also be carried on by his many nieces and nephews, who will miss his guidance and his ever-present sense of humor. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clifford Davidson, and his mother, Anna Mae Davidson, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and the importance of family. Gary's life was a testament to the power of love and dedication. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his legacy will continue to inspire and guide his family for generations to come. Gary Robert Davidson's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him, and his stories will echo in the laughter of his family and friends. As we say farewell to this remarkable man, we take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on through the beautiful memories he created with each of us.
