Obituary

Frank Richard Smith, 88, passed away July 3, 2024, in Rose City, Michigan after an extended illness.  Born January 16, 1936, in Floyd County, Kentucky to Bishop G P and Martha Smith who both preceded him.

Frank Lived a life marked by devotion to his family and his faith. Frank was known for his loving, kind, and friendly nature. His gentle demeanor and genuine interest in others won him the affection and respect of many.  A devoted Christian, he embraced his faith early an it remained a guiding force throughout his life.

Frank married his life long friend, Pat, after the death of his first wife, the mother of his children.  He is survived by daughters; April Harper, Amiee Smith, Jill Boyd Smith, and Katie (Bud) Rehan, son; Terry Smith, Step daughter; aka sidekick, Cindy Harrison, Step-sons; Danny Smith and David Smith, brother; Robert (Shirley) Smith, sister-in-law; Mae Emogene Smith, step son-in-law, Jerry Harrison, and dear friends Hershel (Jan) Ellswick and Rodney (LaVonne) Hayes.  Frank leaves a host of other relatives and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his first wife; Connie Smith, daughter; Mazella DeFelice, daughters-in-law; Patti Smith and Toni Smith, and grandson; Jesus Silva.

Professionally, Frank was a highly skilled millwright and expert welder who spent his career at Berry Steel and later retired from General Motors Cadillac Division.  His work was not just a job, but a testament to his dedication and hard work.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help offset funeral expenses are appreciated.  Frank's memory will be cherished by all who knew him, as a testament to a life well-lived with kindness at its core.
