Frances Lee
Schroeder
June 14, 1953 – May 31, 2025
Frances Lee Schroeder, affectionately known as Lee to those who knew her best, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, in Wayne, Michigan, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 14, 1953, in Harlan, Kentucky, Lee was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her 72 years.
Lee's life was one marked by enduring love and deep family bonds. She met the love of her life, Roger Schroeder, through her brother Jim, and it was love at first sight. The couple married on July 10, 1971, in an impromptu but beautiful ceremony in Kentucky, while they were down from Michigan to help a family member. Their marriage was a testament to their unbreakable bond; they were truly inseparable until Roger's passing on December 24, 2024.
A devoted mother, Lee is survived by her daughter Myrana (Bruce) Rorabacher, her son Greg (Sarah) Schroeder, and her cherished granddaughters Anna Grace, Isabella Faith, and Ava Brooklyn. She was a sister to Audra Jean (the late Buddy) Vanetta, Alice Ann (Robert) Webb, Ella Ruth (the late Virgil) Allen, Sabrina Lynn (Scott) Doletzky, Betty Christine (Mike) Baker, and Karen Ravi. Her brothers Jim and Michael Aycock predeceased her, as did her parents, William and Anna Aycock. Lee also leaves behind a loving extended family, including her late father-in-law Roger Schroeder, Sr., late mother-in-law Grace Schroeder, sister-in-law Christine Patterson, Deborah (Warren) Thomas, and brothers-in-law Donnie (Gloria) Schroeder, Gary (Valerie) Schroeder, and Clifford Schroeder, along with many adored nieces and nephews who were very close to her heart.
Lee's home was her sanctuary, and she took immense pride in her roles as a homemaker and wife, which she often said were her favorite. Her love for baking and cooking was legendary; every Christmas, family members eagerly anticipated her dozens upon dozens of homemade cookies. She also inherited the art of making wedding cakes from her mother-in-law, Grace, and crafted a stunning cake for her daughter's wedding. Her talents extended to sewing, where she lovingly made clothes and curtains, even going as far as creating an entire wardrobe for her children one year. Her home was always immaculate, a testament to her dedication to cleanliness.
Lee's garden was a reflection of her inner beauty, blossoming with vibrant vegetables and flowers. She was a woman of the earth, grounded and without judgment, always extending a helping hand to those in need. She never raised her voice, approaching life with a rare gentleness and love that endeared her to all.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit of generosity, kindness, and unwavering love will continue to inspire and guide us. Lee Schroeder will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will be treasured forever. Her life was a beautiful example of love in action, and she will be remembered with profound gratitude and affection.
