Obituary

Fadil Ali Shaqiri was born on June 8, 1977 in Cleveland, Ohio.  He passed away on April 5, 2023 at the age of 45 in Dearborn, Michigan.

Fadil grew up on the gulf coast of Florida and loved it dearly through adulthood.  He attended Booker High School in Sarasota, Florida.  Fadil was the father to two wonderful daughters, Kaya and Lola.  He was also the proud "papa" to four grandchildren: Mason, Capri, Nyomi, and Amari.  He loved to spend his summers traveling with Amy and Lola and visiting Kaya and his grandbabies.

Fadil was incredibly intelligent.  He worked for Millennium Wireless Technology as the Director of Retail Sales.  He was known around the office as "Papa Shaq" because he was loved by his employees and wanted each of them to succeed in anything they did.  He was a teacher, mentor, and friend to so many colleagues throughout the years.

Fadil's name has Arabic roots meaning generous, giving, and honest which he lived out well.  He was incredibly loving and caring to everyone he encountered.  He lit up a room with his charisma and his contagious laugh.  He enjoyed traveling, he created an adventure out of every little car ride.  He enjoyed live music, hiking, and working out.  Fadil was a proud fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fadil's father, Ali Demaj Shaqiri, immigrated to America from Kosovo with a dream of creating a better future for his family. Although he passed away when Fadil and his little brother were very young, the Albanian family connections remain strong. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.

Fadil is survived by mother, Phyllis Riccota Bozeman, fiancée, Amy Caldwell, two daughters, Kaya Shaqiri and Lola Shaqiri, grandson, Mason, and three granddaughters, Capri, Nyomi, and Amari, two brothers, Terry Walter Bozeman and Damen Shaqiri, faithful companion, Sirius, and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by father, Ali Shaqiri.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends in the Sarasota area at a later date.  Please check back here for more details to come.
