Osborne
January 16, 1928 – October 30, 2024
Evelyn Elizabeth Osborne, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, at the age of 96, in Wayne, Michigan. Born on January 16, 1928, in Freeburn, Kentucky, Evelyn was a cherished daughter to the late Oscar and Maudie Howard. Her life was a testament to the power of love, as she was the devoted wife of the late Woodrow Osborne, her lifelong love, with whom she shared over 45 years of marriage.
Evelyn's legacy is continued through her loving family. She was a nurturing mother to the late Karen Denton and Lisa Osborne, a caring mother-in-law to Mike Denton, and a doting grandmother to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the apples of her eye: Darnell Ritchie Jr., Woodrow (Tina) Ritchie, Angel Denton, Mike, Westley, Ricky, Robby, Alyssa, Kody, Ryan, Kyrie, Brooklynn, Evelyn, Kennedy, Woodrow Jr., Serenity, Heather, Ashley, Holly, Jake, Darian, Makayla, Darnell III, Maddie, Annalisa, Royce, Tony, Kayla, Madyson, Angelina, Johnny, Laina, and Dreama. Each of them carried a piece of her spirit and teachings into the world.
Evelyn was the embodiment of love and kindness, always putting others before herself. Her thoughtfulness knew no bounds, and she was a firm believer in the importance of being true to oneself. Her home was a haven of warmth and acceptance, where everyone was treated like family. Evelyn did not have friends in the conventional sense because to her, everyone she met was family, and she loved them as such.
Her life was a tapestry woven with the love she had for her family and the kindness she extended to all. Evelyn was grateful for every moment and every person in her life. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel cared for and important, and her advocacy for authenticity inspired many to embrace their true selves.
Evelyn's passing leaves behind a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide. She was a woman who saw the good in people and the beauty in the world, and her legacy of love and kindness will resonate for generations to come.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that Evelyn is now reunited with her beloved husband Woodrow, her daughter Karen, her parents Oscar and Maudie, and her siblings Isaac "IG" Howard, Christine Kline, and Herman Howard, who all predeceased her.
Evelyn's life was a lesson in love, and her memory will be cherished forever. She was a remarkable woman whose impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle. As we say goodbye to Evelyn Elizabeth Osborne, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of grace, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched, and her example of selfless love will remain a guiding light for us all.
