Elizabeth "Betty" Lada (Reck) was born on June 25, 1929 in Fremont, Nebraska. She passed away on February 23, 2022 at the age of 92 in Westland, Michigan. Betty attended Hamilton High School in Hamilton, New York and proceeded to attain a Bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. There she met the love of her life, Gabriel "Gubby" Lada. Betty and Gubby got married on August 23, 1952 and shared over 50 years of love and laughter. Betty and Gubby started a family shortly after their marriage and had two daughters, Lorraine and Lynne, and two sons, Lance and Layne. Their family moved to Michigan for the work opportunities presented to them in 1967. Betty worked as a paraprofessional within the Wayne-Westland School District until her retirement. Betty was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star Nankin Chapter #238 in Westland. She enjoyed singing and had a beautiful voice. She also enjoyed crocheting and needle point and had a love for koalas.
Betty is survived by two daughters, Lorraine (Jim) Jackson, Lynne (John) Moomaw; two sons, Lance (Susan) Lada, Layne (Roxann) Lada; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by loving husband, Gabriel "Gubby" Lada; father, W. Emerson Reck; mother, Hazel Winifred Reck; sister, Phyllis "Sunny" (Lew) Welch; and one grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or the Parkinson's Foundation. Information on where to donate can be found below.
