Elizabeth D. Farley, age 88, of Westland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024. Born on March 17, 1936, in Bluff City, TN, Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of Theodore Nelson Parks and Lizzie Ellen Bowers, who preceded her in death.
In 1954, Elizabeth moved to Detroit, MI, where she met and married the love of her life, the late Rev. Franklin R. Farley, in November 1955. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, lasting over four decades until Franklin's passing. Elizabeth was not only a loving and supportive wife but also a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Elizabeth's life was a shining example of faith and service. She dedicated herself to the Lord, living as a devout Christian and touching many lives through her ministry. She served at Calvary Deliverance Center for many years alongside her husband, who was the pastor.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Angela Pronko (Alan) of Westland, MI; her son Anthony Ray Farley (Theresa) of Sumpter Township, MI; and her daughter Yana Zatto (Tom) of Menifee, CA. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through her grandchildren: Frederick Pronko (Lindsay) of Westland, MI; Marie Groom (Simon) of Eastpointe, MI; Jessica Farley (Ed) of Columbus, OH; Dylan Farley (Sarah) of Westland, MI; Mariah Farley of Westland, MI; Austin Farley of San Francisco, CA; and Ciara Farley of Menifee, CA. Her great-grandchildren, Lily Groom and Isara Farley, were a tremendous source of joy and happiness in her life.
Elizabeth is also survived by her sister Donna Smith and brother Billy Joe Parks, both of TN. She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Jane Parks and Dewey Lynn Parks, both of TN, and Betty Barnes of MI; and her brothers Rev. TJ Parks and James F. Parks, both of TN, and Stanley Dean Parks of MI. Her extended family includes many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her.
Elizabeth's life was marked by her unwavering faith and love for her family. Her legacy will continue to inspire all those she leaves behind.
The family will receive friends and family for a visitation at Uht Funeral Home, 35400 Glenwood Rd, Westland, MI 48186, on Tuesday, July 23, from 4-8 pm and Wednesday, July 24, from 10-11 am, followed by a memorial service to celebrate her life. Her final resting place will be Parkview Memorial in Livonia, MI
