Edward George Knapp Jr., 71, passed away on August 2nd, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward, mother Loretta, and his sisters Patricia, Mary, Loretta, Margaret, and Constance. He is survived by his wife Robin, his son Edward (Leslie), his daughters Janet, and Laura (Andrew), his grandchildren Alan, Adam, Anna, Remy, and Evra, his sister Jacki, and brother Albert. Edward grew up in Wayne, Michigan. He graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1967. Edward served as a member of the United States Army from 1969-1971. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Edward worked for 42 years as a job setter at General Motors, and was a member of the UAW. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, working on cars, and was known to be quite the handyman. Edward and Robin enjoyed spending time together at the casinos, and spoiling their dog Daisy. Playing cards with friends and family was one of his favorite ways to spend time together. After his retirement, Edward enjoyed spending time with his family, and his well earned Lazyboy chair. His favorite things to watch were Judge Judy, TMZ, Steve Harvey, or a good western movie. Anyone who knew Edward knows how much he enjoyed making people smile. He always had a silly "dad" joke on hand, or a story to tell. He wanted to make sure his children and grandchildren were happy, during visits they always left with a bag of food, or a treasure he thought would bring a smile. He was a dad and a grandpa true to the bone, always wanting to make sure his family was safe and knew how much they were loved. Edward left behind many special memories.
