Born on May 16, 1926, in Philippi, West Virginia, Edna was a daughter to the late Edgar and Mary Mayle and grew up in a lively household that would shape her into the remarkable woman she became.
Edna was married to the love of her life, the late Merideth Kennedy, and together they raised a beautiful family. Her legacy continues through her 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, with another cherished soul on the way, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
She is also survived by her devoted siblings Tilly Parriman, Connie Mahlee, Paul Mayle, and David Mayle, and was preceded in death by her siblings Nina Mayle, Waldo Mayle, and Ruth Mayle. Her love for flowers and gardening was evident in the beautiful blooms that surrounded her home, a colorful testament to her nurturing touch. Always dressed to impress, Edna loved to look her best, believing that a touch of elegance could brighten even the dullest of days. Her organizational skills were unmatched, and she enjoyed putting them to use, whether in planning events or keeping her home in impeccable order.
More than anything, Edna was known for her gift of encouragement. She had a remarkable ability to reach out to people, to chat and see how they were doing, always leaving them feeling uplifted and valued. Her thoughtful nature meant she never missed an opportunity to make someone feel special.
Edna's impact on the world was profound, not through grand gestures but through the countless small acts of kindness that defined her life. She was the embodiment of thoughtfulness, always considering the needs of others before her own. Her selfless love and unwavering support were her greatest gifts to her family and all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to Edna, we celebrate a life rich in love and service. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the beauty of a life well-lived, dedicated to family, friends, and the simple joys of togetherness.
