Obituary

Dorothy Skiver (Evans) was born on June 11, 1932 in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada.  She passed away on May 16, 2023 at the age of 90 in Dearborn, Michigan.

Dorothy met Donald while he was in the Air Force and was stationed in St. John's, Newfoundland.  Dorothy was a great homemaker. She raised seven incredible children and did so without ever driving.  She loved to talk on the phone and was known to be the communicator of the family, always informing her family of the current events both in and out of the family.  She was a seamstress in her younger years and made many of her children's holiday outfits.  She was proud of her heritage and was proud to be Canadian.  She enjoyed shopping (especially at Costco), traveling with her family, and cooking and baking.

Dorothy is survived by beloved husband of 67 years, Donald Earl Skiver; children: Donna (Robert) Colaianne, Sharon (Robert) Simpson, Marilyn (Darryl) Sprowal, David (Linda) Skiver, Patricia Savage, Sean (Christine) Skiver, Juliane (Jeffrey) Gonyea; sisters, Mary (the late Michael) Boland, Pauline (the late Albert) Frank; sisters-in-law, Mary (the late Robert) Geroux, Judy (the late Gene) Marcinkiewicz; grandchildren, James, Michael, Brent, Robert, Marc, Rebecca, Ryan, Bradley, Kyle, Doug, Jessica, Jannel, John, Alana, John, Kevin, Erik, Justin, Caroline, Zachary; great-grandchildren, Anna, Addison, Isla, Theo, Benton, Emma, Charlotte, Avery, Tanner, Thomas, Jack, Riley, Matias.  She is preceded in death by parents, John Evans and Mary Evans; brother, William (Olive) Evans; sisters, Shiela (William) Snow and Margaret (Donald) Tizzard, and sister-in-Law, Virginia Miller.
