It is with heavy hearts but joyous memories that we announce the passing of Donna Jean Sims-Bostic, aged 68, of Canton, Michigan, who departed from this life on May 3, 2026. Born on March 4, 1958, Donna was a beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, celebrated for her unwavering spirit and vibrant personality.

Donna will be forever remembered for her remarkable love story with her wife, Patricia Bostic-Sims. They first crossed paths in 1978 while working together at Daisy Plastics and shared a bond that, over the decades, blossomed into a deep and abiding love. They proudly celebrated their commitment to one another when they married in 2018, a testament to their unwavering partnership and devotion.

In addition to her loving spouse, Donna is survived by her siblings: Thomas (Suzanne), Annie (the late Marcel), Karen (Ken), Patty (Larry), Steven (Cindy), Bill (Holly), and Randy (Chris) Bostic. She was also a caring daughter-in-law to Geraldine Sims and sister-in-law to Rick (Bob) Villa-Sims, Sherry (Fred) Felice and Bobby (Tracy) Sims. Her legacy continues in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews, each of whom carries a piece of her warmth and creativity, most notably through her lovingly crafted bowl koozies that adorn homes near and far. A passionate shipping specialist, Donna was known for her strong opinions and sense of humor—traits that endearingly shaped the lives of those around her. Her headstrong nature often sparked laughter and lively discussions among family and friends, reminding everyone of her zest for life. Her happiest moments were spent up north, where she gathered with family to enjoy games and laughter by the lake, always with a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Everyone remembers the unforgettable “this is my stick” game. Donna’s spirit will forever resonate in the cherished memories created with her loved ones, as she was the heart and soul of her family.

As we mourn our loss, we are eternally grateful for the joy and love that Donna Sims-Bostic brought into our lives. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Donna was preceded in death by: parents, Donald and Frances Bostic, and brother, Donald L. Bostic.
