Donna Jo
Christopherson
July 1, 1945 – December 21, 2025
Donna Jo Christopherson, a beam of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on July 1, 1945, in Wayne, Michigan, Donna's vivacious spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all who knew her. After completing her education with an Associate Degree in Applied Science, Donna became a Certified Medical Assistant, a profession that showcased her innate caring nature and desire to help others. Her dedication to her work was only surpassed by her commitment to her family. Donna's 42-year marriage with her beloved husband, Ralph Christopherson, was a testament to true partnership and mutual adoration. They were often described as "two peas in a pod," exemplifying a bond that was as feisty and sassy as it was deep and enduring. She is survived by a family that adored her, including her husband, Ralph; daughters, Holly (Mark) Laginess and Dennie Jo (Gregory) Zink; sister, Terri Nowak; grandchildren, Mark, Payton, Luca, Bobbie Sue, Joshua, and Jacob; and her cherished canine companion, Lexy. Donna was a pillar of strength and love, not only to her immediate family but also to her nieces, whom she shared a special connection with, being celebrated as the best aunt one could wish for. Her parents, Edward Alan Weise and Virginia Weise; her son, Harold Lloyd Powser, Jr.; and her brothers, Edward and Charles Weise, and sister, Leslie Duke, preceded her in death. Donna was the matriarch of her family, a role she embraced with both pride and humility. Her kindness extended beyond her kin, as she became a grandmother figure to all the children in her neighborhood. Her home was a haven, filled with laughter, care, and daily visits from the squirrels she lovingly fed, including her favorites, Petey and Gray Baby. Her love for animals was matched by her passion for the beach. It was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace and solace during her downtime. Those who had the pleasure of meeting Donna often spoke of her loving, funny, and kind nature, qualities that made her very loved in her community. Donna Jo Christopherson's legacy is one of love, laughter, and kindness. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by those who loved her and the countless lives she touched. Her spirit, a blend of sass and sweetness, will continue to inspire and influence generations to come. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that gave so generously.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Michigan Humane Society, Detroit Dog Rescue, or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Thank you.
