Obituary

Dolores Cindy Kramer, known affectionately to all as Cindy, brought an irreplaceable light to the world when she was born on June 28, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio. On March 21, 2025, Cindy took her final bow in Livonia, Michigan, after a life that was as vibrant and dynamic as her personality.

Cindy was a woman of remarkable spirit, a diva and princess in her own right, with a hairdo that defied gravity and a heart so big it could hug the world. She was the embodiment of kindness, friendliness, and generosity, and to say she was close to her family would be an understatement. Cindy was the superglue that held the Hillards together, from her brothers, the late Tom, James (Pat), Donald, and Ronald, to the littlest great-grandson, Kayce. She was the matriarch, the caretaker, the one who made sure that her son Edward, daughter Terri, and all her grandkids and great-grandkids knew they were loved, fed, and well-styled.  She most recently resided in Westland with her significant other, Rick Kelly.

If Cindy's life were a karaoke song, it would be a dazzling show-stopper. Her love for singing, especially on karaoke nights, was legendary. She could turn a dull evening into an unforgettable concert, where everyone was welcome to grab a mic but knew they could never quite match her sparkle.

Our Cindy was a collector of angels, which is fitting, given she was a bit of an earth angel herself. She had a knack for making you feel like the most important person in the room, and if you were in need, she'd literally give you the coat off her back-just ask the lucky stranger who walked away a little warmer one chilly evening.

Cindy had a few life philosophies that she swore by: Coca-Cola could solve half of life's problems, and duct tape, Vicks, and rubbing alcohol could muscle through the rest. And let's not forget her baked beans-those were not just food, they were a hug in a bowl, a culinary masterpiece that could mend any broken heart or at least make it forget its troubles for a while.

She was the kind of person who knew exactly what she wanted and had no qualms about letting you know, often with a cheeky grin and a twinkle in her eye. Her big personality was only matched by her big heart, and she wore both on her sleeve with pride and a dash of sass.

Cindy's departure leaves a void in the hearts of her siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a bevy of nieces and nephews. Her legacy is carried on through Edward and his wife Suzanne, Terri and her late husband Ken, her granddaughters Brittni (Stephen), Courtney (Brent), Chelsi, Truth, and the late Amber,  and her grandsons Edward I, and Kadin, her great-grandsons Jackson, Logan, Emmett, and Kayce, who will grow up with stories of their larger-than-life great-grandmother, and her nieces and nephews Donald Jr, Stephanie, Brandon, Salina, and Sharon.

Cindy's life was a testament to love, laughter, and the belief that everyone deserves to be taken care of. She was everyone's favorite comedienne without even trying; her wit and wisdom were as natural as her ability to light up a room.

While she has taken her final curtain call, the memories of Cindy's indomitable spirit and infectious laughter will continue to resonate with all who were lucky enough to know her. She was one of a kind, a true original, and the world is a little less bright without her. Cindy, thank you for the music, the memories, and the countless moments of joy. Your encore will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
