Obituary

Diane Bilek, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on June 18, 1938, Diane lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family.

Diane's journey began on a fateful blind date with the love of her life, Raymond. They married on Sweetest Day, October 17, 1959, and together they built a beautiful life until Raymond's passing on February 27, 2010. Diane's heart remained forever entwined with his, a testament to their deep bond.

As a devoted mother to her sons Jeff (Carrie), Gary (Carrie), Michael (Anita), and daughter Ramie (John), Diane's greatest joy came from her family. She was the glue that kept them together, always present at every event and celebrating every milestone, large or small. Known for her big, loud Italian family, her spirit of love and togetherness created cherished traditions that will continue to echo through generations. Her home was the gathering place for countless sleepovers with her grandchildren, fostering an atmosphere filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Diane was passionate about life and held a special fondness for birthdays, relishing in the joy of being celebrated and celebrating others. She enjoyed sports, particularly baseball, and played softball and volleyball in her youth. Diane's enthusiasm for life extended to gaming as well-she loved trips to the casino, playing poker, and proudly taught all her grandchildren the art of the game.

A dedicated nurse, Diane began her career at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn and went on to become the director of nursing for various long-term care facilities. Her role was not just a job but a calling, and despite attempting to retire in 1999, her love for her profession brought her back to work for several more years, impacting the lives of many.

Diane's life was filled with humor and kindness; she had a knack for making people laugh and brightening even the dullest of days.

Along with her children, Diane is survived by her beloved grandchildren Anthony, Brittany (Chris), Nicole, Kaitlyn, Vincent (Bianca), Danielle (Jordan), Mary (Bradley), Courtney (Sean), and Madison (Giancarlo), and great-grandchildren Jade, Arianna, Liam, Cosima, Ava, Whitney, Zoey, Milo, Theodore, Bobby, and one on the way. She is also survived by her sister Christine.

As we gather to honor Diane's life, we invite all who knew and loved her to join us in celebrating the remarkable woman she was-the laughter she brought, the love she shared, and the countless memories we will hold dear forever.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Bilek, and brother, Richard Bardelli.
