Dennis Ray
Amolsch
September 16, 1948 – August 15, 2024
Dennis Ray Amolsch, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away on August 15, 2024, in Westland, Michigan, at the age of 75. Born on September 16, 1948, in Wayne, Michigan, Dennis was a man whose kindness and generosity knew no bounds. His life was marked by his devotion to his family, his passion for helping others, and his remarkable ability to fix and create with his hands.
Dennis's journey in life was one of enduring love and companionship. He was married to the love of his life, Dolores Amolsch, for 45 years, having been together for a total of 47. Their love story began with a trip to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, where Dolores, set up by friends, was stuck in the same truck as Dennis. Dolores protested, however, fate had different plans, and that trip became the canvas upon which their beautiful life together was painted. As a doting husband, Dennis embodied the essence of thoughtfulness. He held Dolores in his heart at every moment, continually finding creative ways to express his love. Whether through unexpected gifts on ordinary days or grand gestures during celebrations, he made sure that Dolores felt treasured every day of their lives together.
A proud Navy veteran, Dennis served his country with the same steadfast dedication that he would later bring to every aspect of his life. His work ethic and commitment to service were unparalleled, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Dennis was a man of many talents, most notably his incredible handiness. There wasn't a thing he couldn't build or fix, and his skills were always at the disposal of anyone in need. His daughters, Deena Rae and Dayna Amolsch, grew up watching their father transform the world around them with his capable hands, instilling in them a sense of possibility and the value of hard work.
As a father, Dennis's dedication knew no bounds. He embraced every aspect of fatherhood with open arms and an open heart. From the early days of making bottles and changing diapers to the later years of teaching bike riding and driving lessons, Dennis was the epitome of what it means to be a dad. His presence was a constant in his daughters' lives; he was the father who never missed a chance to play games, who drove them to marching band practices, and who stood proudly at every football game and dance recital. Dennis's unwavering support and involvement in his daughters' activities exemplified his deep commitment to their happiness and success.
His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren, Kieana, Kalia and her husband Mark, Braedon, and Kamilla, who will always remember their grandfather as a pillar of strength and a source of boundless love and support. Dennis's nurturing spirit extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of his brothers; Ronald and the late Marty, many nieces, nephews, and friends who survive him and cherish his memory.
Those who knew Dennis would describe him as the nicest man they'd ever met. Always thinking of others, he was the embodiment of love and thoughtfulness. Whether it was a community project or a personal favor, Dennis was there, ready to lend a hand with a smile that could light up the room.
Dennis's approach to life was simple yet profound: love deeply, give generously, and build a world of beauty and function. He was a man who left his mark not only through the things he made but through the hearts he touched and the lives he enriched.
As we bid farewell to Dennis Ray Amolsch, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey of love, and a legacy of kindness. He has set sail on his final voyage, leaving us with memories that will be treasured forever and a blueprint for living life with open hands and an open heart.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Betty Amolsch. As we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with them in a place of peace and everlasting love.
In remembering Dennis, we are reminded of the beauty of a life dedicated to others and the enduring power of a kind and generous spirit. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to inspire us every day.
Rest in peace, Dennis. Your legacy lives on in the countless lives you've touched and the world you've made better by simply being in it.
