Denise Lynn Horsley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on July 20, 1955, in Dearborn, Michigan, Denise spent her life in the service of her family and her community, ultimately residing in Westland, Michigan.

Denise was a devoted wife to her husband, Urcel Horsley, whom she married on January 17, 1982. Together, they shared 50 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. Denise was a loving mother to their three sons, Christopher, Joshua, and Jacob, who fondly remember her nurturing spirit and unwavering support. She was a proud grandmother to Myla and Rylee Horsley, who brought immense joy to her life.

A dedicated lab supervisor at Vision Works in Pennsylvania for 14 years, Denise exemplified hard work and commitment in her professional life. Outside of her career, she immersed herself in her passions, including sewing, where she showcased her remarkable talent as a seamstress, and scrapbooking, passionately preserving family memories. Her love for history often drew her to the History Channel, where she enjoyed exploring the richness of the past.

Denise was a member of the RLDS Church in Plymouth for many years, where she connected with her faith and community. Known for her strong-willed nature and charismatic personality, she was a deep thinker and a guiding light for her family, leading them with love and wisdom. Denise's home was a haven for family gatherings, often marked by joyous bonfires and shared stories that will be cherished in their hearts forever.

She is survived by her loving husband, Urcel; her sons, Christopher, Joshua, and Jacob; her grandchildren, Myla and Rylee; her brother, Donald (Denise); and sisters Cheryl and Lisa.

Denise was preceded in death by: parents, Donald and Maxine Shannon, brother, Danny, and sister, Chrissy.
