Daniel Sanford, age 68, of Westland, Michigan, passed away on December 1, 2021 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was born on December 2, 1952. Daniel grew up in Wayne, Michigan. He attended Wayne Memorial High School and graduated in 1971. During his high school years, he worked at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. After completing high school, he went on to take some college courses at Eastern Michigan University. In 1974, Daniel entered the police academy and graduated in the winter of 1975. Daniel was a police officer for the city of Wayne from August 1974 to December 2000. He then worked at the 34th District Court in Romulus as a court officer from 2002 to 2021.
Daniel was married to his beautiful wife, Beth, for 29 years. Together they shared many years of love and laughter. He had three children: Lisa, Lauren, and Jason. He loved helping them out around the house, he was always the person they called when they needed help fixing something. Daniel was an outdoorsman. He loved being up north and all of the activities that came with it, such as hiking and fishing. The serenity that he felt while being up north brought him peace and comfort. He also enjoyed golfing and reading.
Daniel is survived by wife, Beth Sanford; two daughters, Lisa (Pawel) Cichowlas, Lauren (Octavian) Borowicz; son, Jason (Katie Anderson) McDermott; mother, Louise Sanford; two granddaughters, Shelley Cichowlas, Ariana Borowicz; two grandsons, Peter Cichowlas, Jack Borowicz; brother, Ron (Helene) Sanford; sister, Kathy (Doug) Huesdash. He is preceded in death by father, Roger Sanford, sister, Sharon Sanford.
